Newmarket Brocante FAQ

Here's some questions you might have about the Newmarket Brocante

1. How do I get a stall?
You've gotta apply online through our website here for a pitch at the market. See the post for the relevant month and follow the link for the applications.

2. Where's THE CO-OP?
THE CO-OP is at The Dublin Food Co-op in Newmarket, Dublin 8. It's in the liberties near St Patrick's Cathedral. Here's a google maps of where to find it.

3. Is there parking?
Yeah, there's plenty of free parking on Sunday's in Newmarket.

4. How often is the Newmarket Brocante?
It's monthly, on the third Sunday of each month.

5. What's that 'brocante' buzz?
It's a French thing - they're mad for their furniture fairs, amongst other things. We're just borrowing their word and giving it a spin of our own.

6. If I've a stall, what time can I come to set up?
You can come at half nine on the Sunday morning to get yourself set up.

7. I've some big furniture, what should I do?
You should let us know if you've got big stuff (and you'll probably be needing to take two stalls for your space requirements.

8. Are you the same as the Dublin Flea Market and The Crafty Market?
Nope. We're in the same place alright, but where the Flea is about general brick-a-brac and the Crafty is about Arts and Crafts, we're all about stuff for the home, kitchen and garden.

9. Is there food for me to eat at the Newmarket Brocante?
There's a cafe, some hot food sellers and there's the store of the Dublin Food Co-op (organic and Fair Trade wholefoods).

10. I've only got a few things that to sell, not really enough for a full stall ...
Can you team up with a mate who's in the same position?

11. I really, really want a stall, but I'm seriously strapped for cash ...
You might be able to offer to volunteer to help out with the set-up and the closedown at each market. Send us an email with your story.

12. Where's the nearest ATM?
Ah, the kinda question we like the sound of. Firstly, you can get some cash back from The Co-op's store if you've got a laser card (you have to buy something, of course). Then, there's ATM's nearby in the Spar by St. Patricks Cathedral and the Londis on Clanbrassil St. There's another one further up towards Christchurch Cathedral on Patrick St, in the Londis there.
